It’s
the day in, day out high level of fishing and our excellent standards
of service that keeps our customers coming back season after season.
With Angling Unlimited, you don’t need to be here yesterday.
From May until September, today will do just fine. Angling has the perfect Sitka Halibut Fishing Charter or Sitka Salmon Fishing Charter for you!
Angling
Unlimited Style
Angling
Unlimited brings a passion for light tackle Sitka Sport Fishing to these
waters. Our methods are hands on and our tackle as light as you
like. Our captains are knowledgeable and experienced and our boats
are custom built for the job.
We
mooch for salmon. You hold the rod. You feel the bite. You set the
hook. You don’t wait your turn while someone else sets the
gear in downrigger, drives the boat around, yanks the rod from the
rod holder, then finally gives you a chance to crank. Sitka salmon
are densely schooled feeders and mooching is not only more fun,
it’s more effective.
We
supply the highest quality tackle from G.Loomis, Penn, Shimano,
and Islander. We’ve pioneered the use of circle hooks for
salmon in order to dramatically reduce hooking mortality while catch
and release fishing. We have light spinning rods and fly rods if
you’re looking for a greater challenge.
Your
Day on the Water
It begins with a friendly wake up call at 4:15 AM. You choose from
a wide variety of breakfast in your private room or suite
Our
van picks you up at the suites at 4:50 AM for the three minute ride
to the dock. You arrive at the dock just before 5 a.m. and depart
immediately.
Your
snacks, beverages, and lunches will be aboard, your boat is underway
at 5 o'clock sharp. We know you’re eager for that first hook-up.
Running time to the grounds varies from 10 minutes to 90 minutes.
An hour is average.
We
fish a full day, returning to the dock between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
We don't live by the "limit them out and get them home"
philosophy. If fishing is red hot, we'll catch and release to keep
you on the water and do what you came to Alaska to do—fish.
You'll have a deckhand and a captain on each boat so you and your
catch will get the attention deserved.
Our
captains know what's happening on the grounds. We have excellent
communication between our boats and with other friendly competitors.
Still, it's your day. If the ocean is too rough for your tastes,
let us know and we'll fish the calm inside waters. If you'd rather
catch and release salmon than move on to halibut—we're well
equipped with the best light tackle for making that fun and challenging.
If you'd like lunch in a quiet cove so you can enjoy the silence
of the saltwater wilderness, let us know. We customize each day
to your interests.
Back
at the dock in the afternoon, we immediately go to work on custom
cutting, vacuum sealing, and
freezing
your catch. Our drivers will take you back to your lodging immediately
or you can feel free to hang out and watch us process your fish.
We do all fish cutting, vacuum packing, and freezing at our own
dockside facility. The fish you bring home will leave the dock in
waxed boxes, packed to airline specifications to travel as luggage,
and frozen down to 20 below zero Fahrenheit. We've had fish travel
as far as Hong Kong and arrive hard frozen.
After Sitka Fishing, Sitka Halibut Fishing or Sitka Salmon Fishing, you can hang out on your deck overlooking the water for
an afternoon drink or get in your car (provided to groups of four
or greater) to check out Sitka. Each of our suites has a fully equipped
kitchen and barbecue on the deck so you have the added option of
preparing your own catch of the day. Or choose from a list of local
restaurants.

Because we customize your trip, you can choose to leave later than
5 a.m. We leave early to get to the grounds first and get the fish
when they bite the best.
